Mid-19th century timber-framed pub, much altered internally. The L-shaped main bar is well-beamed and has two brick fireplaces. There is a strong emphasis on food and the two lounge areas are now used for dining. The pub was taken over by a group of local villagers to save it from closure and is now run by its chef who is responsible for its appealing menu. Care is also taken over its ales. One of the guest beers is a changing ale from Lacons brewery.
