John the Unicorn

Formerly part of the Antic group, opened in February 2016 in a former decorator's shop in the high street a stone's throw from the railway station. Takes its name from one of the management's daughter's soft toys! The decor of the spacious tile-floored ground floor bar is typical Antic style with exposed beams, brickwork and pipes, plus a mix of tables and seating. Upstairs is the kitchen and additional seating. Four changing cask beers are available always including one from Antic's own Volden Brewery. Also offers a selection of craft brews, bottled beers, wine and cocktails. DJ on Saturday evenings. Portobello took over here from Antic in 2020.
