Friendly and welcoming 18th-century former coaching inn with wood fires in both bars. Has maintained its traditional character. A separate restaurant serves home cooked food. The landlord is passionate about real ale and encourages customers to taste and experience the variety of flavours; 1/3 pint tasting boards available. An in-house cask ale members' club has been established with regular brewery visits and brewers' speaker/taster events. Beers are varied and selected from local and national brewers. Six cask ales on hand pump. Usually a new ale every couple of days, Over 180 different cask ales introduced in the last twelve months.
