An unexpected hidden gem close to Archer Road retail park, this popular community pub has a consistently good selection of reasonably priced real ale. Home cooked food is served on Friday evenings from 6pm. Six constantly changing guest real ales from small breweries are skilfully kept (beers from Dark Star and Titanic are commonly available). Lots of entertainment including quiz nights and singing nights. Guaranteed to improve your weekly shopping experience!
A post-war estate pub, originally the Sheaf. In the 1980s served Tetley Bitter (H) and (for a brief period, when it was available), Gilmour’s Bitter (H). The 1996 local Sheffield guide lists Ind Coope Burton Ale, John Smiths Bitter, Magnet, Tetley Bitter and Webster’s Green Label (all H). However, the 2011 local guide lists ‘no real ale.’ Soon after that came new ownership, a change of name and the return of cask beer.
