Now back to its original name which it was called from 1780 when occupying number 11 Church Street. It changed to the Royal Hotel in 1833, extending to 7 & 9 in 1893. It became the Fealty and Firkin in the late 1990's for about 5 years and then the Assembly for about 5 years. Now a stylish outlet for the town centre scene. Mainly serving 18 to 30 year age group. Loud music at weekends.
Once a outlet for real ale but alas no longer, however the bar on the latest visit offered a craft draft Beavertown Neck Oil IPA.
