Country Inn in a grade II listed Georgian manor house, the former home of the 1st Earl of Strafford Sir Thomas Wentworth. Changing guest beers can be from far and wide but are pricey. Good reputation for its food. Situated in the centre of the village on the main A630 between Rotherham and Doncaster,next to St John the Baptist Church and opposite Manor Gardens Nursery. Outside tetrrace at the rear of the pub over looks open fields. Opposite the Garden Centre. Extensive food menu. A 10p levy is charged for halves compared to pints. Saved from closure and conversion to old folks home in 1994.
