Included on the Regional Inventory of historic pub interiors, this multi-roomed pub has an original 1936 floor plan. It has a ‘Gilmour’ branded door step, some original windows and distinctive and colourful exterior tiles. Available are up to five guest beers, including seasonal ales from Castle Rock. Home-cooked food is available daily. Winner of a 2014 SIBA Best Local Award, the front snug has a local sports theme, while the lounge features live bands at weekends and a comedy club on the first Sunday of the month. Outside is an award-winning, heated, covered patio garden. 2015 saw an extension and the creation of a new function room with its own bar and toilets. In addition to hosting some of the comedy and music nights, this room is also available for hire. The pub is handy for both Owlerton and Hillsborough Stadiums and the annual Tramlines Music Festival Main Stage. In 2018 a new bottle room was converted from kitchen, with bottles, cans, five ciders & perries in boxes. On the main bar are nine real ales, two hand pulled ciders, five craft keg beers, two wheat beers, two keg ciders, four lagers and one stout, 25 lines in total.
