Opened in 1978 to provide sporting and social facilities for the employees of the then nearby British Steel Works at Aldwarke, now TATA Steel, but it is now open to the public. It now features a clubhouse, 18 hole golf course, football pitches, three bowling greens and other sports facilities. The clubhouse boasts a bar, meeting rooms and a large function room that be hired. It is also home to Parkgate FC and used by Rotherham United for training and youth matches. There is also a thriving fishing club. The pavilion is open to the general public and function rooms are available for hire. Monday night is rock n roll night, with Bingo on Wednesdays and a quiz on Fridays.
