Greyhound

Opening hours

Reopened on 13 August 2021 as part of the Oak Taverns group. Previously owned by Punch Taverns, it had been closed from 22 July 2021 for refurbishment. The Greyhound has a main L-shaped bar with a low ceiling and plenty of beams and wood panelling, with an updated contemporary, minimalist decor. It is a former ferryman’s cottage. A small meeting/function room has been opened up to the right of the entrance, which can be booked by groups wishing to use it. The garden to the rear has also been refurbished to provide an attractive setting, with seating for many customers. Five cask-conditioned beers are served, sourced nationally, regionally, and occasionally, locally, often from the newer small breweries. Although the pub is now primarily wet-led, it does pub snacks, such as scotch eggs, sausage rolls and pork pies etc, supplied by a local butcher. Pop-up hot food, such as pizzas, are available from 6 - 9pm on Friday evenings. Oak Taverns own a number of pubs including the following in Oxfordshire: Angel, Bicester; Red Lion, Chinnor; Swan, Faringdon; George & Dragon, Sutton Courtenay; Cross Keys, Thame & Kings Arms, Wantage.
