The Black Horse has been in existence for over 350 years and run by same family for over 110. This unspoilt Grade II-listed gem is hidden away up a lane that at first glance appears to lead nowhere. Well worth seeking out, it is popular with locals, walkers, horse riders and cyclists. Not a foodie pub, although there is are baguettes, bacon butties and chips to be had at lunchtimes. The al-fresco Gents toilet is worth a visit too ! During the winter months opening times may vary and calling ahead is advisable at quiet times. Dogs welcome in the pub if they are small, quiet and on a lead, but otherwise they will need to stay outside.
