Bird in Hand

The pub reopened in November 2019, and has been re-decorated in a contemporary style. Originally a 16th century coaching inn, with a pleasant low ceilinged bar at the front with a large open inglenook fireplace and a separate dining room to the rear. There is also an enclosed garden at the back of the pub, complete with wood-fired pizza oven for use in the summer. The tenants are aiming to re-establish the pub as a community hub and are looking to host events such as wedding receptions and birthday parties. The food menu is good pub fare, with all ingredients sustainable and locally-sourced.
