Scorton is not a tourist destination as such, yet trippers, coach parties and cycle club runs regularly converge on the place, many ending up in the Priory. This is first and foremost a restaurant, but the former blacksmith's shop at one end of the rambling range of buildings houses a fully-licensed bar , where the furniture is mostly dining-room style. In the evenings a fair number of locals gather. There is generally no music or amusements, so nothing interrupts the flow of conversation.
