A once-popular city centre real ale venue has suffered from a regular change of licensee in recent years, although this now appears more settled. The tidy one-roomed pub is split either side of the entrance into two distinct areas: one for the bar and lounge; the other for the pool table and TV screens. Occasionally DJs play at the pub. An outside enclosed seating area at the rear is accessed via steps down.
