Formerly 5 cottages, this is one of only 2 buildings to survive the great fire of Havant. Beams recovered from the Spanish Armada were used in the construction, although the date inscribed in the front is about 200 years too early. The pub is reputed to have staged the last dancing bear in England. Behind the pub is a large hidden garden and the lounge has the remains of the old bakery oven, indicating another of its former uses.
