Painters Arms

Opening hours

Plenty of friendly banter at the bar dominated by sport TV. The beergarden now also has TV and a wagon with burritos and burgers including veggie. More tables outside in Francki Place, named after the Polish captain whose destroyer ORP Blyskawica defended Cowes from air raids in 1942. Redecorated in keeping with the traditional character, the superb building dates from around 1903. The earlier Painters Arms stood at the head of Temperance Terrace, a renowned Cowes alleyway with its own community, where now sadly is a car park.
