Chequers

Reopened in May 2016, after an extensive refurbishment. The pub has retained its basic character, but now has a warm and welcoming ambiance. There is an open fire in the main bar area and a wood burning stove in the lounge. There are two fully covered pavilions in the back garden which accommodate parties of 12-18.Owned by the Argellus group which also owns The Lifeboat in Thornham.En suite accommodation is availbale.
