Busy local just off the A52. Five handpumps feature two regular beers and occasionally two varying guest beers from small brewers as well as large regionals. The comfortable bar has low, beamed ceilings, wooden settles and a cosy fire in winter. The restaurant offers a good choice of reasonably-priced evening meals; lunches are served in the bar. Tables in the car park are used for outdoor drinking. Buses run from Boston and Spalding (not Sun). Due to the return in 2020 of the remains of Captain Matthew Flinders, navigator and cartographer, born 1774, to his birthplace, Donington, the pub has an exclusive beer named in his honour, brewed by Batemans.
