Reopened on 4 July 2020 with new licensees (who had previously been tenants at the Fat Fox in Watlington) having closed on 3 September 2019 under its former name, the Carriers Arms. Now completely refurbished inside. Very cyclist friendly.
Coffee and homemade cakes are available all day. Alcohol served from 11am. Pizzas are cooked in the wood-fired oven in the garden. The Ridgeway crosses the road about 650 yards south-west of the pub. From the garden there is a good view of the chalk triangle, called 'White Mark', on Watlington Hill originally cut to look like a spire on the parish church - you have to go a long way along the Cuxham Road to get this effect now. Large numbers of red kites to be seen. The changing beers come directly from local breweries such as XT, West Berks, White Horse etc.
South Oxfordshire CAMRA Pub of the Season for Spring 2021.
