1 Lime Walk, OxfordOX3 7RD
A large corner pub that lost its football trade when Oxford United moved has been rejuvenated under Ember Inns ownership. It has been much extended and is arranged over several levels. There are 8 handpumps but some often double up or are vacant. There is an attractive garden to the side. The steep stone steps are to aid the mounting of horses, and date from the pub’s coaching inn days in the early 19th century.
