Killingworth Castle

Three-storey stone coaching inn on the ancient Worcester to London road, which sensitive renovation under new owners revealed to date from 1637, and featuring a fine Morland's plaque on the front wall. At the front is a small dining area and the bar, warmed by a wood-burning stove. The five handpumps usually serve two house ales from sister company Yubberton Brewing and two or three guests from regionals and micros. Tasting selections of three thirds of the ales are available. To the rear of the building in a later extension is the larger restaurant area serving award-winning food. Accommodation in the form of eight letting rooms are available.
