Reopened on 22 October 2021 having been closed temporarily on 12 September 2021 in order to change it back to a micropub from its existence as an off-licence and an online shop (from 3 June 2020). The owners had closed it as a micropub at the start of the first Covid-19 lockdown on 22 March 2020.
Named after part of the town's great castle, The Keep is Wallingford's first and only micropub. Originally opened in May 2016 it is located in a converted art gallery and has rustic charm with an exposed beamed ceiling. The one-room bar seats approximately 20 around 5-6 tables but there is plenty of space to stand and socialise.
The Keep micropub offers off-licence sales from two tall fridges for bottles and cans.
