Reopened on 2 October 2020 having been closed in Sept 2019 after being purchased by Hook Norton from Greene King, to become Hook Norton's most southerly pub. There was a major refurbishment to now include accommodation (six en-suite bedrooms) for the first time and an on-site nanobrewery is planned. The pub is a characterful 17th-century Grade II-listed, timber-framed former coaching inn, with a welcoming bar area on entrance, flanked by two dining areas each side. There is a newly refurbished and pleasant courtyard and garden to the rear. With 5 handpumps, the pub serves three regular Hook Norton ales alongside two varying ales from Hook Norton's hand-crafted ale range. The food menu comprises modern British classics and is already proving very popular with customers. Breakfast is also served from 7.30am until 10am.
