Reopened in Apr 2018 having closed on 19 June 2017 while the Brakspear pub co searched for a new tenant. 17th century pub in a Grade II listed building retaining many original features such as exposed low beams, large fireplaces and internal cellar. The large fenced garden sits on probable Saxon-age town ramparts. South Oxfordshire CAMRA Pub of the Year 2005.
