A Grade II*-listed old coaching inn dating from the 16th century, which is easily accessed from the town centre. This is currently a Peel Group hotel, providing accommodation, it also hosts various functions and is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies. The hotel possesses a single bar, The Tavern Bar, which enjoys several separate areas, in addition to a spacious hotel courtyard which is ideal for outside eating and drinking. Food may be either bar snacks or dining from an à la carte menu in George’s Bistro across the passageway from the Tavern Bar.
