Reopened in August 2014, this tastefully refurbished large Grade II listed pub is Community Orientated, and is known for its live music and other events. It is located on the main road, close to the train and bus stations and is at the side of the Rochdale Canal towpath. The pub layout has been sectioned into zones, including sports and quiet ‘snug’ areas. To the rear is a raised dining area where homemade Thai-orientated meals are served, and also gives access to the outside patio area. The main area, containing the bar, has original stone flooring and an open fire. Upstairs has a contemporary-styled wine bar and can be hired for private functions. Cask ale prices are significantly reduced on Tuesdays.
