Chapel

This triangular pub dominates the corner of Chapel Street and Old Marylebone Road with the original name of Pontefract Castle still visible on the Chapel Street side. The front of the pub is set around an elongated bar opposite large windows overlooked by hanging baskets. There is also a semi separate back seating area with a skylight and a large mirror above a wooden gas effect fire. Now very much a gastro-pub; details of their menus and food serving times can be found on their website. The freehold was bought by the owner/operator in 2008. As at early 2020 proposals were put forward to develop this site into a new public house, hotel and new retail space.
