White Lion

This cosy three-roomed back-street local is the only pub in Oak Street - a hundred years ago there were thirty-one! The pub offers a range of guest ales, and real cider is a major feature, with a regularly updated list of up to ten ciders and perries from all over the UK. The pub has been the Branch Cider Pub of the Year every year since 2012, and has won the East Anglian title. There's a comfortable main bar, at the front on the right as you enter, with a tiled floor, tables and a large well-lit and wood-topped bar, a rear bar with more tables, and a long side bar on the right as you enter, with a bar billiards table and a dart board. Food is served, but please check hours. May close earlier during the week if quiet.
