Historic hotel, with parts dating back to the 13th century. The traditional oak-panelled bar is cosy, with red leather seating and stocks three ales, two rotating from local breweries such as Woodforde's and Moon Gazer, and one permanent, known as Maids Head Ale.
There's also a pretty patio courtyard which is partially covered, and tables in front on the pavement with views across Tombland and of the Cathedral.
Food of some sort is served all day, from breakfast through afternoon tea to dinner, casual or formal.
