An excellent village pub with an easy-going feel. The wood burner in the inglenook fireplace at one end of the bar is especially welcoming on cold winter days, and in summer the large beer garden is a great place to relax.
A huge display of beer mats attached to the bar timbering is testament to the many guest beers offered in the past. Four ales and up to five ciders are usually available, alongside excellent home-cooked food, served in the bar or the separate restaurant area.
There's a beer festival in August, and the pub is the local CAMRA Branch's Rural Pub of the Year for 2017.
CLOSED January 13-28, 2020 for refurbishments, but open Friday and Saturday nights.
