Tiny Rebel

Opening hours

Occupying premises to the left of the High St entrance to the market, this is Tiny Rebel Brewery's spiritual home and very much a major player in Newport's real ale scene. Fairly minimalist decor, though adorned with the Tiny Rebel motif and various artwork in that now familiar and distinctive contemporary style. Very much focused on real (and craft keg) ale, and appealing to the younger element. A lounge (aka the Cwtch) of sorts is downstairs, with comfortable seating arrayed around low tables. In this area you may view the impressive cellar while a Newport dragon is positioned where the lavatories may be found. The outdoor area has awnings to provide shelter when needed. Freshly prepared food in the form of homemade stone-baked pizzas and fresh Italian pastas available along with a choice of salads, sides and desserts, many ingredients locally sourced. The real ale range nearly always includes four from the host brewery plus a couple of interesting guests sourced nationwide. Be warned the prices are upmarket for the area but if you want quality. ... However, a bargain can be had on Monday when The Cask Ale Club sees cask ales sold at £2.50 a pint. Also look out for other deals: Tuesday Flight Night and Wednesday Snack Attack. The pub is also on Instagram. A note for vegans: all Tiny Rebel's bottled ales are suitable for vegans. Has a frequently updated list of available beers and ciders here: https://www.tinyrebel.co.uk/bars/newport-centre/beers-on-tap/ Be aware that the staff have an eclectic taste in music.
