Punchbowl

Large, imposing pub raised prominently on Porchester Road. Excellent views of the city centre are afforded from the front patio area which can get very busy in summer, and on New Year's Eve for the city firework display. A single bar sits on the upper split level opposite the main entrance. There are numerous separate areas and alcoves allowing for quiet conversation, and an open fire gives the pub warmth, in both senses of the word. Two small TVs in the bar area show Sky Sports. Food is prominent in the daytime to early evening. Children are allowed until 8pm. Quizzes are held twice-weekly with old TV show themes. The function room is upstairs (with no disabled access).
