The entrance alcove leads directly from street to bar. Built in the late 1800s this pub has a predominantly local clientele. Although open plan, the décor gives an appearance of two distinct bars; to the left is a wooden-floored public bar, and to the right is a carpeted lounge area. A quiz is held at 9pm on Mondays. A function room is to the rear, as well as a large patio area which overlooks the lower car park. The bus stop to the city centre is just outside the front door.
