Friendly Town Centre pub. Front and rear bars plus separate function room for 50 people. Emphasis on the community with a number of pub teams (darts, pool, dominoes, skittles) and tournaments. Outside skittle alley. Plenty of sporting trophies and memorabilia on display. Traditional local. Weekly quiz night. Interesting features: Not exactly a feature, but the pub stands in the shadow of the old historic Hole's brewery. Sadly now flats, but still an impressive building. Accolades: Newark CAMRA Pub of the Season Winter 2000.
