Horse & Plough

Opening hours

Situated in the heart of a busy market town, this warm, friendly, one-room pub, owned by Castle Rock Brewery was a former Methodist chapel and has a cottage-style interior and flagstone floor. Up to nine cask ales and three ciders are served. In 2019 a terrace was added, mainly open air but covered and heated at one end. The Horse & Plough holds regular brewery tap takeovers plus live music, poetry and occasional comedy nights. Although small, the turnover of interesting and well kept beers at this pub can't be understated. With easy public transport links to Nottingham the Horse & Plough is the jewel in the crown of 5 pubs in Bingham serving cask ale, making a trip out to this market town on the edge of the vale of Belvoir well worth a visit. Local CAMRA Pub of the Year 2007, 2010 and 2012 and, most recently, 2017, the pub has long been a focus for cask ale in the town. Since being taken over by Castle Rock the number and range of cask ales & ciders has increased, making the pub a serious draw for lovers of real ales. The Horse and Plough was also awarded the local CAMRA Branch Cider Pub of the Year 2016.
