A busy town Wetherspoon pub which is handy for buses and the main train station and named after the works which previously occupied the site in a town once known as Steelopolis. The ten handpumps usually have five beers available, often coming from Scottish breweries - check the blackboard at each end of the bar to see what's available. The pub operates a beer suggestion-box so that customers can influence the choice of forthcoming ales. Seating is split into two parts, with wooden fencing separating an area more suited to dining from the lively bar area. Motherwell’s past is illustrated in the prints lining the walls on the upper level, depicting the long-gone industries and labour and trade-union heritage. Alcohol is available after 11am.
