Captain Ridley's Shooting Party

Opening hours

JD Wetherspoon completely renovated, extended and refurbished the building , reopening in 2017. The pub name is taken from 1938 when MI5 were checking nearby Bletchley Park as a suitable site for the wartime code breakers, but allayed any suspicion by saying that they were a weekend shooting party. The pub walls and display cabinets feature much of the Bletchley Park Codebreakers history and the "Huts" are commemorated in the rear garden. The ground floor comprises one large bar with the main seating to the rear of the pub, completed with an open kitchen gantry. The 12 hand pumps offer three regular ales and up to six guests (but usually fewer) Captain Ridley’s has Bingo Wednesday afternoons, quiz night Mondays and chess club evenings across the week. There is a large garden to the rear of the pub with three snow huts and other seating, plus a large number of seats in the front garden. The front of the pub also has (limited) customer parking, free of charge, includingl two electric car charging bays.
