Prairie Schooner Taphouse

Ostensibly a micro pub but actually a decent size, with two distinct seating areas either side of an island bar. The premises were formerly a shop selling golfing tackle. The emphasis now is on fermented malt and fruit, consumed in a tranquil atmosphere (no TV or background music). No meals are available but nuts and nibbles are available. Lovers of whisky, gin and wine will also find something of interest. Four hand-pulled real ales and eight keg beers are served from the above ground cellar behind the bar. All draft beer remains independent and mainly local. They have over 200 canned, chilled beers (British, Continental and American) from the likes of Anchor, Cantillon, Founders, Firestone Walker and Mikkeller amongst others. Keg cider from Hogans and bottled ciders from the likes of Dunkerton’s and the Moss Cider Project. Cans can be taken consumed on or off the premises. There is a weekly quiz night on Tuesdays starting at 8pm. There are occasional DJs. Every 2nd and 4th Thursday is Bring Your Own Vinyl night and there is street food every 3rd and 5th Wednesday. Hosts local homebrew club on the first Wednesday of the month. Note that "Last Orders" is 30 minutes before the quoted closing times, and they can close early on quiet nights.
