Reopened 6th December 2019 under new management (Samantha & Paul Holland) following a major refurbishment including upstairs, which is now a large function room that can cater for parties of up to 70 people, and more significantly, the beer garden, which has been extended right down to the side of the canal. Real ale reintroduced July 2021 (Wainwrights & a guest ale). One real cider also available, as well as a good range of bottled ales and ciders. Although described as a gastro-pub (the menu is extensive), there is also plenty of room for drinkers, and beer / cider festivals are held on a regular basis. Pool table, darts, table-football, jukebox, quiz night Sundays, BT Sports and live music monthly. Supervised children welcome until 7pm. Across the road junction from Guide Bridge station and on main bus route between Manchester and Ashton.
