A family friendly community focused pub which holds many an event for various charities (bury hospice being one), also pool and crown green bowling teams are based here. when no matches are being held the bowling green is open to the general public (pub opening hrs ) at a nominal cost of £1-50 per person per day and the south facing beer garden catches the sun most of the day, the cost of real ale is reduced by 20p on Monday`s only ( which was in very good condition ), dogs are welcome but only in the outside areas. With very welcoming bar staff and locals a pleasant visit is certain. Reopened 4/7/2020
