Named after Middleton's last Lord of the Manor, this centre of town pub is popular with locals, shoppers and as a meeting place for night revellers. Adorned with historical pictures of old Middleton and a library for those wanting a quiet read with their pints, hosts twice yearly beer festivals and Meet the Brewer nights, featuring local beers regularly. The Gwynt Y Ddraig cider on hand pump and the Thistly Cross cider on gravity are no longer considered to be real ciders. This community Wetherspoons has really come of age in recent years in terms of real ale and is well worth a visit.
