Dulcimer is a popular bar right in the centre of Chorlton just yards from Chorlton's "Four Banks" crossroads which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2017.
Five cask ales are available.
Other guests come from a wide range of breweries - Blackjack, RedWillow, Pomona Island, Squawk and Beatnikz Republic are typical guests. Cider from a box is served via a handpump on the bar.
The decor is stripped back & basic, with walls taken back to the brick, stripped & varnished floor and an array of antique & reclaimed furniture. Downstairs is one open plan room with the bar in the centre to the left and a small beer garden/smoking area to the rear. A staircase to the right rear of the room takes you to the first floor, again one large open plan room. A second bar upstairs opens at weekends and when the room is hosting gigs.
Dulcimer does pride itself on its music, with a rotating set of DJs playing every Thursday, Friday & Saturday evening (except the fifth Friday/Saturday) . The upstairs room hosts a regular line up of live music, mainly consisting of singer-songwriters. Sunday is a regular night for gigs. Wednesday evenings the live music comes downstairs with "window gigs" in the front bay.
