Wig & Mitre

Atop the famous cobbled Steep Hill, crowned the UK�s best street in 2012, the Wig occupies buildings dating from the 14th century. The narrow frontage belies the TARDIS-like interior, with characterful rooms spread over two floors. A free house, it is renowned for the quality of its food but happily welcomes drinkers. Two guest pumps regularly feature beers from Black Sheep and Thwaites. The pub is family-friendly throughout and dogs are welcome downstairs.
