Rebuilt in Edwardian times this pub replaces an earlier inn of the same name which was first licensed in 1781 after formally starting its existence as a private house. The bar at the front is full of traditional features including flagstone floors, high-backed settles, a wood-panelled ceiling and a huge wood-burning stove. The large dining area to the rear overlooks the decked patio garden with its pergola and teak furniture. There is no public transport to the village.
