One of Melton Mowbray and Everards' most historic pubs and an icon for the town. Part of the property dates back to 1327 when it was home to monks. The house was gifted to Anne of Cleves by Henry VIII as part of her divorce settlement. It is now a popular hostelry following a sympathetic conversion and restoration in 1996. It has stone-flagg floors, exposed timber beams and wall tapestries throughout. The building is said to be haunted. The beer garden recently won a silver award from 'East Midlands in Bloom'.
