Situated alongside the Ashby Canal, where it crosses the A5, the pub was originally an 18th-century coaching inn. It is now a brewpub and offers free garden side moorings, a large canal side beer garden with a functions marquee. The first floor lounge has canal views and an open fire in winter. The downstairs room has been renovated (October 2017) and has level access to the garden. Regular beers St Austell Tribute, Timothy Taylor Landlord plus guest beers including those from the on site Buswells Brewery. 5 real ciders are served. Traditional food is served, with homemade pies and special deals on Monday to Thursday evenings. Local Branch Pub of the Year 2016.
