Hundred House Inn

Constructed during 1524 under the reign of King Henry VIII for use as the first formal Radnorshire Court House. It obtained its name due to serving 100 familes and then 100 towns, villages and hamlets in the county. In the 1870's the Courts were transferred to the larger county town of Presteigne and the redundant property was converted into a public house. In 2015 the original court house/pub was converted into a family home. The barns and stables built to serve the judges, legal officers and members of the public, were converted into a pub and restaurant. Closed in April 2018. New owners took over in February 2020, just in time for lock down. Their Facebook page says they have done the place up while waiting to open. Finally opened in August 2020. Real ale available Christmas and Bank Holiday weekends. Usually sourced locally. Phone ahead to check availability.
