Recently reopened after long closure and comprehensively remodelled. Four rooms and a hallway have become two rooms in contemporary style, featuring grey paint and uncarpeted floors. A few old features remain. The pub's pride and joy is a 17th-century fireplace with ornamental plasterwork on the breast in the bar-room - the more recent fireplace with a large range is worth a look too. A core of locals regularly frequent the bar but the main trade comes from car-borne customers seeking a meal and there are a fair few customers stopping off from rambles around the beautiful countryside. Toilets are up 25 steps (New ones are being built). Also in the near future - live music and letting bedrooms.
