Augustus John

Cards only, no cash. Opened in 1968 and run by the University of Liverpool, the Augustus John is an open-plan pub popular with students, lecturers and locals. Up to five guest beers are available, normally including a locale. There is also a number of ciders on offer, two on hand pump and several more from the cellar, and the pub was named ‘Cider Pub of the Year’ from 2011 to 2015 by the local CAMRA branch. Pizza is served at all times and there is a juke-box. Closed over Christmas and New Year. Occasionally open at weekends for special events including the nearby Liverpool Beer Festival.
