The pub, whose name derives from a combination of two previous incarnations, the Flagship and the Mitre, is a 1930’s Art Deco building by the Queensway tunnel entrance . 15 handpulls serve an ever-changing array of beers and real cider with the friendly and knowledgeable staff always willing to make a reccomendation. There is also an impressive range of world beers.Beer & cider festivals are hosted throughout the year as well as coach trips. A bottle shop is situated a five minute walk away and offers a CAMRA members discount. Started brewing their own beers using the plant at Stamps Brewery as the Ship & Mitre brewing company now renamed Flagship. As of January 2018, pub now uses lined glasses to serve real ale.
