Roscoe Head

After a campaign lasting over five years against the previous owners Punch and then New River Retail the freehold of Roscoe Head was sold to the tenant Carol Ross in 2020. One of the Magnificent Five pubs that have been in every edition of CAMRA's Good Beer Guide. This is a cosy four roomed pub where conversation and the appreciation of real ale rules. Run by members of the same family for over thirty years it commemorates William Roscoe, a leading campaigner against the slave trade. Six handpumps feature Tetley Bitter plus fie changing guests mostly from small breweries or from the SIBA list. Quiz night Tuesdays 9:30pm and Cribbage Wednesdays.
