After a campaign lasting over five years against the previous owners Punch and then New River Retail the freehold of Roscoe Head was sold to the tenant Carol Ross in 2020.

Run by members of the same family for over thirty years it commemorates William Roscoe, a leading campaigner against the slave trade.
